WORK

What the work is.

From a complete new-build exterior to fixing a single block. Gate pillars, fences, carports, concrete slabs, tiling, gardens, planting, and repairs. Based in Toki, we work across the Tono area — Mizunami, Tajimi, Ena, Nakatsugawa and Kani.

Who we're hoping to meet.

Starting out

No experience or age limit. You begin by carrying, tidying and watching. If you like gardens and making things, and can handle heat and cold, that's enough.

Skilled hands

Exterior, landscaping, plastering, civil work — experience in any of these counts, and we'll pay for it. Differences in method we sort out as we go.

Independent contractors

You can keep your own work and join us on a day rate. Some of the craftsmen we've worked with for years do exactly that.

How we work, and the money.

What we know for certain is written here. The rest we decide when we meet.

Form of work
As an employee, or as a day-rate craftsman (contractor). Either is discussed at the interview.
The day
The company day runs 8:00 to 17:00 as a rule. It shifts a little depending on the site.
Pay / day rate
We look at your experience and skill and talk it through at the interview. For day-rate craftsmen it's the day rate plus the allowances below.
Allowances
A tool allowance if you bring your own. A distance allowance for far sites. Early starts and overtime are paid separately, overtime at a premium.
Days off
How you take days off is decided together with the form of work. Parental leave is set up so it can actually be taken.
Insurance / licence
We carry liability insurance for site work, and hold a general construction licence from Gifu Prefecture.
Sites
Toki City and the whole Tono area.

How it goes.

  1. Call

Just say you saw the job page. We'll ask your name and when we can reach you.

  2. Come and look

The office or a site, empty-handed. Half a day is plenty. Look, ask, and it's fine if that's where it ends.

  3. Decide

We both decide after that. No rush.

We're a small company.

Takahiro Mori, President

Sixty-odd years of exterior work here in Toki. A family-run company, about ten of us now. Not a big place — which is why everyone's face is known.

We want to keep doing the exterior work we've carried on here in Toki, close beside people's lives. That's why we're looking for someone to carry this craft and heart forward with us.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

QIs it really all right with no experience?

It is. You start by carrying, tidying and watching. Ask about anything you don't understand, on the spot.

QIs there an age limit?

No. As long as you can move and handle the heat and the cold.

QI'm an independent contractor. Can I join on a day rate?

Yes. Some of the craftsmen we've worked with for years do exactly that.

QCan I just visit?

Yes. Half a day, empty-handed.

QDo I need a licence or qualifications?

A regular driving licence makes getting between sites easier. Without one, talk to us first anyway.

QWhat do I say on the phone?

Just that you saw the job page. We'll ask your name and when to reach you, and call you back.
